ROOTED CASE STUDY
Brand Strategy • Content Strategy • Website Strategy • UX • Content Architecture • Website Build
Overview
Rooted is a faith-centered digital platform I am building to serve as a practical, welcoming resource for people looking to grow in their faith, find community, and access useful Christian resources in one place. The project combines brand development, website strategy, content planning, UX thinking, resource organization, and hands-on website execution.
The Idea
Rooted was conceived as a centralized faith-based resource where people could find meaningful content, tools, community resources, churches, and support without having to navigate many disconnected sources.
Brand Development
The brand direction is warm, modern, welcoming, and approachable, with visual identity, color palette, typography, tone, and overall aesthetic designed to make a faith-based experience feel useful rather than intimidating.
Website Strategy and Build
The website work includes site structure, page planning, navigation strategy, information architecture, user experience, resource organization, responsive considerations, and hands-on website building. Because Rooted is still evolving, planned functionality is framed as future functionality rather than something already live.
Content Strategy
Rooted is being designed as an evolving resource platform rather than a static website. The content strategy includes editorial direction, blog planning, educational content, faith resources, long-term content growth, and organizing content around audience needs.
Resource Development
Planned resources include a church directory, worship playlists, verse of the week, devotional content, Bible study resources, faith-based educational resources, and community support resources. Worship content is being planned around different moments and needs, including everyday listening, workouts, encouragement, grief, and feeling closer to God.
Community-Focused Functionality
The longer-term vision includes church-managed community needs boards, volunteer opportunities, local support requests, church profile pages, and resources for churches that may not have robust websites. Where appropriate, churches would manage their own church-specific areas so needs can be communicated directly to their communities.
My Role
I have owned the project across brand strategy, content strategy, website strategy, UX, information architecture, content architecture, editorial planning, resource planning, website build, and long-term platform planning.
What the Project Demonstrates
Rooted demonstrates my ability to turn an idea into a brand, develop a content ecosystem, plan audience journeys, organize complex information, build a website, create scalable content structures, and connect content, UX, brand, and business goals.
